Hiking, anytime I can explore a new area I am geared up and ready to go.  This was a sunrise walk on the Banner Grade, an historic Butterfield stagecoach trail that led out of the desert to the gold mining town in Southern California.  

It was highly memorable as the sun rose over the mountains and lit the peaks, sides and valley.  It was deep enough for snow shoes though on this sojourn it was boots, snow pants, gloves, and pure joy.
